Privacy Policy
Almost nothing collected.
This policy explains what data FindCamp processes, why, and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.
Who we are
FindCamp is an independent campsite decision tool. For data protection questions, contact hello@findcamp.cc.
No accounts, no profiles
FindCamp has no login, no signup, and no user profile. We don't know who you are, and we don't try to find out.
What we store on your device
Your shortlist of saved camps, your priority weights, and a one-time notice-dismissed flag are kept in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device, are never sent to us, and clearing your browser data deletes them. See the Cookies & local storage page for the full list.
What we don't use
No advertising cookies. No cross-site tracking. No fingerprinting. No social media pixels. No third-party analytics that identify you. No selling or sharing of personal data.
Server logs
Our hosting provider may keep short-lived technical logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security, abuse prevention, and debugging. These are processed under our legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)), retained for up to 30 days, and not combined with any other data about you.
Aggregated analytics
We may measure aggregated, non-identifying page traffic (e.g. how many people view a given camp page) to understand which decisions get made. No personal identifiers, no cross-site tracking, no cookies set for this purpose.
Outbound and affiliate links
When you click through to a campsite or partner site, that site receives the standard HTTP referrer header. Their privacy policy applies once you leave FindCamp.
Affiliate disclosure. Some outbound booking links are affiliate links — currently Camping.info is our affiliate partner and is labelled "Partner" next to the booking button. If you book through that link, FindCamp may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Booking.com and direct-website links are not affiliate links. Affiliate status never affects which camps we show you, the signals we display, or how results are ranked — Camping.info simply shows first when both options exist because it's the only provider we have a partnership with.

Campsite data
All campsite signals are aggregated from public sources. We never publish individual guest reviews verbatim, and we never publish raw review counts.
Your GDPR rights
Because we don't store personal data on our servers, most data-subject requests have nothing to act on. You always retain the right to:
- access, rectify, or erase any data we hold about you;
- restrict or object to processing;
- data portability;
- lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
Children
FindCamp is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly process their personal data.
International transfers
Our hosting providers may process technical logs in the EU, UK, or other jurisdictions covered by an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards under GDPR Chapter V.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date below. Continued use after that date means you accept the revised policy.
